MarMooWorks, LLC, is committed to promoting literarcy and a love for learning at an early age. By using traditional and technologial art forms in its design and production of original children’s stories and companion pieces, MarMooWorks books fly off the cover and land in the most unusual places, transforming reading into a whimsical adventure.
In March of 2012, after years of teaching and working as an arts educator, I launched MarMooWorks. Anyone who knew me would not think the word entrepreneur as a descriptor; in fact, that word probably would not have beamed across their radar screen. But miracle-of-miracles, within the year, thanks to the support and resources of the StARTup Incubator, I was awarded the 2012 InnovationErie Grand Prize and the Multi-Media Design Arts Competition for my business concept and its multi-media production of Christopher Counts The Constellations, my first children's book and companion pieces. To add one more miracle to the miracle-of-miracles, I was first InnovationErie contestant who walked away with all the awards.
I earned my M.F.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Pittsburgh, and both a Masters in Education and Bachelor of Arts in Literature from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania.
